FAQ

  • CAN I BRING BABY, TODDLER OR CHILD?
    Bubble Retreats is strictly an adults only accomodation experience and we can only accomodate a maximum of 2 people per booking. What a great excuse to not only escape the hustle of daily life but also a chance to re-connect with your partner. Just the two of you. You must be at least eighteen (18) to make a booking with us.
  • DOES IT GET COLD IN THE BUBBLES?
    The bubbles both have 5.8KW reverse cycle heating units installed to best keep the bubbles warm & cosy during the cooler winter months. We also provide super warm bedding & linens as well as hot water bottles for those extra chilly nights! Having said that, the weather & temperature can vary a lot up on the hill and so we recommend no matter what time of the year you are coming to visit that you pack accordingly. Some extra layers are always a good idea just in case.
  • DOES IT GET HOT IN THE BUBBLES?
    The bubbles both have 5.8KW reverse cycle air conditioner units installed to keep the bubbles as cool as possible during summer. However, the unique and transparent bubble can still get very warm during the day when the sun is beaming down. We recommend guests don't spend more time than necessary inside the bubble between 10am & 2pm on clear warm days if it is not comfortable. The good news is that once the sun starts to go down the bubble quickly returns to a temperature that can be regulated to your preferred comfort. For one night stays this much less of an issue. As for 2 night stays we recommend doing all the ‘touristy’ adventures and trips during the day on the second day of your stay. Alternatively, we have a beautiful shady picnic area just 5 minutes down the hill with a magnificent waterfall which is a great place to relax & unwind on those hot summer days.
  • ARE YOU PET FRIENDLY?
    We love pets as much as anyone, but unfortunately the bubbles are simply not made for our furry friends.
  • DO THE BUBBLES HAVE BATHROOMS?
    Yep! Bubbles come with a full ensuite. That means hot showers, flushing toilets, mirror and wash basin. Please keep in mind we are on a farm and we use tank water so please keeping your showers short is much appreciated.
  • UM, A BUBBLE IN NATURE... WILL I BE SAFE?
    No worries! Our bubbles are on a private property and are safe. However, keep in mind you're responsible for your own safety at all times and the bubbles are located on a working farm where seeing a snake, spider and other local wildlife is totally possible. It's more like a wilderness adventure than a hotel. Act responsibly and follow our tips (which we will send upon your booking confirmation) and you'll have a great time!
  • IS THERE RECEPTION OR WIFI?
    Yes, there is reception at the bubbles, some providers better than others. There is no wifi. This is a nature retreat after all and we think its best to put your devices away and enjoy the show that is mother nature.
  • KEEP THE DOORS CLOSED AT ALL TIMES
    The bubbles are inflated by continuous air which creates an incredibly relaxing unique sensation when you step inside. However, for your own safety and to keep the bubbles inflated, please keep both of the doors closed at all times & never open the two entry tunnel doors at the same time as this will cause the bubble to deflate.
  • WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS BAD WEATHER?
    Located on top of a hill to capture the amazing views, the bubbles are also subject to ever changing landscape and that means ever changing weather conditions. Don't fret, our bubbles are built to withstand all conditions including rain, hail, hot summer days, cold winter nights and high winds. On some very rare occasions, Bubble Retreats reserves the right to cancel bookings due to extreme high wind forecasts (full refund or re-schedule option). This is not so much for the safety of our guests but to ensure the guests enjoyment while staying at the bubbles.
  • FOOD & DRINKS?
    Our bubbles include a mini fridge, microwave, toaster & a weber barbecue outside. We also have coffee making facilities and basic utensils & cutlery to DIY your meals at the bubbles. We recommend pre-preparing meals or stocking up at one of the many local cafes on your way up! Upon booking, you will also receive our 'Field Guide' which has a heap of recommendations of the best local cafes, restaurants as well as recipe suggestions that are compatible with your stay in your bubble!
  • IS THERE A HOST/CONTACT ON SITE?
    We've partnered with a land owner to build the 2 bubbles. Therefore, we personally won't be on the bubble site and the bubbles are both self check-in and check-out. Don' fret, a comprehensive 'Field guide' will be sent to you once your booking is confirmed to ensure you have as many questions answered as possible. We will also share the contact details to reach us on at anytime prior, during or after your stay with any concerns or questions you may have also.
  • WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
    We get it, life happens and sometimes you have to cancel plans. The bubbles are very popular & often booked out months in advance so we try and balance what's fair for all parties. We offer a full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away. 50% refund for cancellations made at least 7 days before check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 7 days of check-in.
  • NO SMOKING
    We have a strict no smoking policy in or around the bubbles.
  • TELL US ABOUT THE PROPERTY & PRVACY OF THE BUBBLES?
    The property has breathtaking views in every direction. The 2 bubbles are located facing south looking out over the ocean below to Wilsons Promontory National park. It is a private property with our land host's house on top of the hill. The property is also a working farm so sometimes you might see a farmer moving cattle into the adjacent paddocks. The bubbles are located approximately 300m apart and are positioned to ensure guests privacy in the bubbles.
